Planting New Song
Hal, and his wife Lori, planted New Song Community Church in Oceanside, California in 1992. They left behind a ministry in Longmont, Colorado and moved to southern California with two kids, two cats, and two couples who were crazy enough to join them.
They know the ups and downs of church planting. They have walked through the challenges and the victories that every pastor knows, and along the way God has shown them his goodness and his greatness.
Fruit
Over the past twenty years, New Song has seen over 10,000 people come to Christ, has planted four daughter churches, has launched one satellite, and has helped launch four parachurch ministries - Outreach Inc., Dynamic Church Planting International, Church Community Builder, and First the Kingdom.
New Song Community Church’s goal is to be The Church Next Door – a great neighbor to the people, institutions and agencies in our community. That great neighbor-circle has expanded to church planting efforts around the globe, and church-resourcing efforts within the United States.
Credentials
Hal travels to assist churches with evangelism and outreach, military ministry strategy, and “Next Door” efforts. He is a Walk-Thru-The-Bible Instructor and a trainer for Dynamic Church Planting International. Hal holds degrees in biblical studies and Christian Education, theology and leadership from Wheaton College (B.A.), and Denver (M. Div) and Fuller Seminaries (D.Min).
Hal is the father of two recent Biola University grads, Bryan and Amy, and husband of one great wife.
